At a recent press conference and open questions session during Oracle OpenWorld 2016, Oracle Executive Chairman and CTO Larry Ellison highlighted why Oracle focuses on Workday as its most important Cloud software competitor, and not Salesforce.com. Ellison’s answer was clear: The size of the prize is much bigger for ERP Cloud Applications, where Workday has an offering and Salesforce does not.
This Q&A also highlighted some inherent strengths of Oracle’s Cloud ERP solution, over the competition:
- Oracle has rewritten all of its ERP Applications for the Cloud, ahead of key competitors.
- When a customer chooses Oracle Cloud ERP, not only are they getting the software they need, but also storage, network, servers, and service.
- In addition to the core Financials and HCM Applications, Oracle Cloud ERP offers Supply Chain, Core Manufacturing, Order Management, Logistics, PLM, and Procurement – a much bigger and better-integrated solution.
